Spray painting

Kia ora bloggers,

These last few weeks we have been making artworks that have to do with a serious global issue. I have chosen racism as my topic. I have wanted to spray paint my issue on a plank of wood. I have cut out my stencil and I am on to spray paint.

Here is what I have done so far,

My Matariki poem

Kia bloggers,

How are you today? Have you had a good week so far? These last four weeks we have been doing tasks for Matariki. The Maori new year. I have made a poem about Matariki. It is about the stars in the sky and the discussions about next year. Here is my poem,

Hocus pocus and binary

Kia ora bloggers,

This week we made a poster of the movie Hocus pocus. Hocus pocus is a pg rated horror film. We had to make an advertisement poster for this film. they had to have aspects of horror. We had to include dark colours and something to do with the movie.

We also made binary bead bracelets where we learned how to turn letters into binary code. My initials are J.S. so I made a bead bracelet that said J.S. I had the choice of choosing colors I chose red and orange just because they were available. We learned how ASCII works with binary and how it works. This was very interesting to learn

See you next time,

Literecy and Cross country

Kia ora readers,

Today I'm going to be writing about my literacy and Cross country tasks for this week.

This week we have been working very hard on our websites because we had to hand it in on Thursday. I was pretty happy about my end result. If you are wondering what my website is about, it is about the wizard of oz. We had to work on different parts of the website including themes, characters and symbols. Here is my website link (if you can't gain access it is for privacy purposes)

We also worked on our fitness for our cross country. In three weeks time. We will be doing cross country we have to run three laps(3km) of our school grounds. Every day for the next three weeks we will be running about 2.3km in order to train for the big day. Today we were focusing on pace. Pace is a speed we set ourselves in order to run distances using endurance.

I will keep you updated on my times(I forgot to time myself today)
See you next time,
Josh

Irony and global issues

Kia ora bloggers,

we had to make a comic strip to show that we understood one of the types of irony Greer and I made a comic strip showing verbal irony she was the camerawoman and I was the balancing prodigy. (that was verbal irony too)

We also took a photo of global issue graffiti and wrote about why it stood out to us. I chose the graffiti where there is a nurse and she was wearing a mask with the superman logo on it;

I chose this picture because I respect Nurses and doctors around the whole world for sticking up for us and helping fight COVID-19. In NZ there are no active cases of COVID-19 in NZ. the nurses and doctors are superheroes. They save lives and helping others.
