Biscuit Box

 Kia ora bloggers,

Our maths lesson started with us taking a lucky dip into an old PAK'nSAVE shopping bag. Inside the bag, there were chocolates and biscuits wrapped in tin foil. I picked out the biscuits. Mrs Davies told us that we could only eat these once we had shown somebody at home. But we couldn't take them home unless we had made a paper box or paper container to hold the treats.  I made a box because the shape would tightly fit around the biscuits.

This was the paper box that I made.

If there is anything that I could improve on please comment.

How to Hangi

Kia ora bloggers,

We watched a video about how to cook a traditional hangi. We had to take what we understood from that video and make a poster about how to cook a traditional hangi. The difference from hangis today from in the past are way different. Nowadays we have metal boxes that we put the kai in and it cooks way faster.

Here is my poster about how to cook a traditional hangi in a pit.

I hope you can read the words on the poster.

Kia ora, ka kite ano.

The leaders trip

 Kia ora bloggers,

On Monday and Tuesday on the first days of the term, we went on a leaders trip at PYDT and learnt a lot about leadership and about the seven habits of highly effective teenagers. Here are some photos. We had to write a speech at the end of the trip I was stressing quite a bit about it. But then I realized it wasn't that big of a deal. The speech was about what we had learnt and what we understand. I really enjoyed the year 8 leaders trip and I made lots of new friends.

Habit 1: Be proactive

Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind

Habit 3: First things first

Habit 4: Think win-win

Habit 5: Seek first to understand then to be understood

Habit 6: Synergize

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw

Rocket challenge

 Hey team,

This term we did something called rocket challenge. Where we have to think like engineers. we had to ask, imagine, create and improve. we had to design a rocket and make it and then take it for a test flight. we had a good time in rocket challenge. My team has Jack, Reilly and myself in it. We came across a few problems as a team but we ended up sorting it out in the end. Our rocket is the shape and colour of a shark.

Here is what it looks like;
